Office, be coloured!

Coloured blazers? Whether your a yay-er or nay-er (?)
They're here to replace the drudgery of office black.

The MARCS campaign

Shirt (supre), Coat (2nd hand), Lace Dress (Boutique), Boots (K-mart), Ribbon bow-tie (spotlight)

The look below is what I was trying to emulate. I tend to get stuck into style ruts with fashion and so I look to fashion magazines and advertorials to help me out. Some may call it cheating, but it is one of the easiest way to try something new without the $$ cost of a personal stylist.

**me trying to pose...so awkwardly, I think I should just stick to the fashion.

Shepherd's Delight

Do you know the saying 'Red in the morning, shepherd's warning. Red at night, shepherd's delight.'? I heard there's a similar one for sailors. Anyway just thought I'd share this lovely sunset with you, taken from my bedroom window. See, Australia isn't that bad !

New and Second-hand.

Stripe Cardigan+Scarf (Harris Scarfes), Faux Leather Shorts (Chic-a-booti), Boots (K-mart)

Went to the beach with my friend today (she just got her licence!) and couldn't help but make a visit to the Red Cross 2nd Hand Store which is alongside the beach. They had a half-price sale and I got the White Slip for $3.50 and the dress for $2.50 ! ! The dress is a bit raunchy, being leopard print, but I hope I can play it down with a scarf and tights for daily use. The bag was from the Sportsgirl sale. It's ponyhair, nuff' said.

Also went to this new ice-cream store where you make it all yourself. Are they common in other states/countries?? It was very nice with cool flavours like green tea and lamington, but it's so easy to over indulge! It ended up being quite pricey...

I tried to be healthy by topping it with fruit, but soo much ice-cream...

DIY sneak peak

DIY coming soon! What would would you create with these colourful wooden beads?

onREPEAT: Blood Red Shoes

They're a two piece from England with Laura-Mary on guitar and Steven on drums and BOY are they good! Got it on repeat from youtube, probably should just cough up the beans and buy it on iTunes already. Anyway have a listen, if you like alternative with a bit more of a punk-rock vibe then you'll dig it too.

Focus Trend: Pastel Dreeeam

Pastels are definitely having a moment this Winter 2012 (or Summer depending where you are!) and how pretty are they!? If your a sweet tooth then this style must be your taste buds in fashion form. And how's this new store, it's called Ally Fashion and although easily classed into the Valleygirl/Temt/Boring Chain Store category it is actually really nice. All things listed below were less than $50! The Mint lace frock is my favourite and the colourblock shirt looks totally DIY-able.

Definitely craving an ice-cream after all this goodness and you can see more here at their website <3

iSPY: ZARA shoes

I spy with my little eye some amaaazing Zara shoes! I've seen so many bloggers over at lookbook.nu with the gorgeous strappy heels with no platform. Specifically, I had a massive crush on the black ones seen here at Fashion Agony, but I can't find them on the store website. Boohoo. The wedges look not only cool, but achingly comfortable, while the injection of pink is something my wardrobe needs! Anyone know the euro to dollar conversion rate?

PS All these shoes and more can be found at Zara.com

Focus Trend: flower POWER ! ! !

This overdose of florals is something I've been seeing for quite a few seasons now, but where it was once an accent it has now taken centre stage. It's clear that the main point for this seasons floral is to avoid an overdose of poodles and cupcakes by adding dark lips and messy hair. It's like the flowers have been dropped on the ground and gotten rained on, even a bit muddy. It's flowers x grunge.

*note the dark lip and rather wild looking florals

I think the best way to buy into this trend would be a floral blazer (like the one by CO Exclusives-listed above) it's impact florals, while toning down the femininity with strong shaping. That, plus a dark lip and your ready to go!

Like a Virgin.

So you could say I'm popping the blogging cherry (metaphorically), but I'm not. This will be my 2nd attempt at blogging after I just kinda.. stopped... Anyway it's the holidays now, so I'm hoping blogging will stop me from being bored out of my brains. (I totally agree, youth is wasted on the young).   Nice to meet you, my names Fumi, I'm a Year 12 Highschool student (final year) and I look kinda like this:

Ahaha, not really. I'm half Japanese so I have slantier eyes than that... and a much smaller nose (although I do lie a lot..-pinocchio reference :)

How about this?

I hope to blog about fashion, what inspires me and perhaps a little bit of DIY. Hope you can join me!
